Stories/ Memories /Comments

Bob Warner here.  I wanted to give you my email address again as it must have fallen through the cracks when I sent it before. I would very much like to be listed on our Tomahawks email list. Here it is: ajpdchief@aol.com . I was in country and assigned to the 128th from June 67 through June 68. I was a CE in the First Flight Platoon and was assigned AC 576, until Lyle Gentz stuck the tail rotor into a water filled rice paddy near Lai Kai and pushed the skids up through the floor!  We (Lyle & I) then took over AC # 866 which we both flew on until I DEROS'd in June of 68. Lyle had already extended so he stayed in country, although I believe that he got shot in the knee shortly after I left and had to get out. I also understand that Lyle was killed in a motorcycle accident after he returned home. Please include my email address in the 128th listings. I would love to hear from any old buddies or anyone who served in the unit. I have rekindled a great friendship after 35 years with Al Shields, also a 1st Flight CE who went through 67A10 & 67N20 school with me. We also were assigned together at Hunter Army Airfield when we DEROS'd. It has been great to catch up with Al and we attended the Phoenix reunion together last summer. Unfortunately, we were unable to make Atlanta this year. Thanks for all of your efforts towards the web site. It is a great way to renew acquaintances and make new ones with guys who have "been there & done that." Kind of hard to explain it to someone who hasn't. Be well and stay in touch. Bob Warner CE 128th AHC, Phu Loi RVN 67/68.

Bill,
Do you think we should indicate, ON THE WEBSITE, that the charts are available to any former 128th alumni by writing an email to me? I think it may aid in the collection of additional data.
Later,
Russ

* WEBMASTER NOTE: Russell is keeping and creating a great set of historical records and updated lists of who served when and with who. He needs your support by supplying him with your data. If you want to find out about anyone in thr unit write an email to him.

Julie Kink and Bill McDonald,
Thought you might be interested. The following 2 emails and Bill's website memorial should tell the whole story. Bill already knows that Dave O'Quinn helped me find out the about Jim's death.

Gary,
This is the website. The picture is one of the pix that I took of Jim. The cell comments are those that are in the 128th AHC charts that I set up. I'd be glad to send you the instructions to download them but I don't know if any of the other stuff would interest you. I will send you any other stuff I come up with that relates to Jim.
Later,
Russ

Dave,
I got the urge and started going through all of the Gary Osborns in Texas and the last name on the list was Jim's brother. I sent him Bill McDonald's web site address with the memorial to Jim.

Gary seemed very interested in knowing who it was that helped me find out about Jim and I told him it was you. You might want to contact him. He may have some ??s.
You might also be interested to know that Jim's father was with Gary when I called.
Thanks again for the help,
Russ
