New Men The new men come in to the TRP, They have the same stories as you and me, You hear the same stories and again and again, But they aren't from the same person, just different men. Some are more lost than others in this bureaucratic maze are, Some don’t know they are lost for they are still in a haze. You want to know their story but you dare not ask, For their story is the challenge they must take to task. It amazes me each time I hear another man talk, Is it I over there describing how I took that walk? No, it’s another brother telling my story, Why do we sound alike and have that same look of worry? We all really are from the same place and time, We’re locked in our own world, trying to make that climb. Most of us feel like we’re running into a wall, And if we lose our hold we will surely fall. Every time I think I’m about to come to grip, A new man comes in and a new fire is lit. He is scared and feels all alone, He doesn’t realize yet he has found his home. We take his ravaged soul under our own broken wing, And try to help him be rid of this horrible thing. We can only do a little for our hurting brother For, we know when he goes, there will be another. © Keith Bodine 04Feb2003 Visit Keith Bodine's website at: www.hack1966.com |
