We are told, we will always be,
Haunted by our past and PTSD.
But we are shown, how to deal and cope,
Which keeps us going, and gives us hope.

We are learning to trust and let down our guard,
Even joking and laughing again, hasn’t been that hard.
We are developing that camaraderie again,
Like we used to have, way back when.

The sessions are intense and can get you upset,
We are told if that’s not what’s happening, it isn’t working yet.
So we try to understand what the session is about,
Hoping the ghosts will be driven out.

The councilors are dedicated and truly believe,
We are not beyond help and can still conceive,
What a real life is all about,
By removing our fears and all that doubt.

So, we say thank you, and God blessed us too,
When He sent us here to put our trust in you.
You will always be in our thoughts and prayer,
As you continue to help those, and show you care.
