My Family

If I didn’t have my wife and family,
I know not what I would do,
For they are my everything,
My eternity, through and through.

I love them all so very much,
They make me feel good,
They keep me wanting to go on living,
To do the things I should.

I don’t know what I would do without them,
And I don’t ever want to try,
I’ve thought of doing that before,
But all I did was cry.

There have been happier times in the past,
And I always hoped that they would last,
But happy times aren’t always here,
The doubts creep in along with the fear.

Then you realize you aren’t all alone,
For your family is here for you,
And all you have to do is share how you feel,
For they still love you too.

Even though I have never thanked them,
For being the way they are,
They know I’m still their husband and father,
And I am never very far.

I am always here for them, as they are always here for me,
And no matter what has happened in the past,
Knowing those times will never last,
Happier days will always be, waiting here, for you and me.
