DREAMS

Sleep comes hard

With dreams interrupting

The peace

Of what could be

Dreams of the past

Intrude on the present

Never relinquishing their grip

On my soul

To dream of the future

Would be heaven

To hope for a future

Is a dream

The best has already been

There is no more to life

Than remembering the past

And reliving it eternally

I know I can’t change the past

But unsure of changing the future

My destiny is unknown

My hope is gone

So today I just strive to survive

And take whatever comes

No hope for better

Just hoping to survive
